The Daily Duh: Friday 5/6/05

In a followup to yesterday's story about the PSP, Linux now boots on the Nintendo DS. Good job! This is a useful and creative project that will benefit DS users, the open source community, and mankind as a whole! Also, it is now opposite day!

In California, a bill that will do something or other to violent video games that Libertarian types won't like has cleared committee. This bill matters. It is very important. Oh, fuck it, opposite day blows. This bill is a crappy piece of legislation much like, well, every other crappy piece of legislation. Civil liberties types will bitch, they will lose, the bill will pass, in ten years it will be about as important as the law that says you can't cross the Minnesota/Wisconsin state line with a duck on your head. Meanwhile, appreciate the fact that somebody is treating that webgame where you can assassinate JFK as an important video game of the same sort that we're protecting Teh Innocent (Teh Innocent copyright the Republican Party. All rights reserved) from. Also the totally gratuitous mention of the Governator's movie career as though his appearance in The Terminator (Or, for that matter, in Kindergarten Cop) is actually going to affect his stance on this bill. So, yeah, I just wrote a whole lot on a story that doesn't matter at all. MOMMY MOMMY I'M A REAL BLOGGER NOW!

City of Heroes now has PVP!. PVP! WOO! Oh, shit, you mean it's totally unbalanced and only worth playing if you're a few archetypes? Shit, did I say archetypes? I meant classes. Shit, did I say City of Heroes? I meant every MMOG ever. Man, the news today, it is teh suck.

Dungeon Siege 2 is out in beta, or demo, or some other early form on Fileplanet. So. Um. I forget who said, of the movie Critters 2 that it's "Not bad for a sequel to a ripoff." But, yeah, let's hope.
